ROMA ROSE
Bio//
2022 sees Scotland’s Roma Rose teaming up with top songwriters and producers across London and Nashville to release her debut EP. A project championed by Arts Council England, each song on the five track EP has been produced by a different female producer, experimenting with new sounds, whilst always maintaining Roma’s delicate pop folk core.
Her previous songs have won support from BBC Introducing, BBC Radio Scotland, Amazing Radio and publishing house Palm Bay Music who have signed her catalogue so far. 2021 also brought an artist of the week main press feature with The Scotsman newspaper, a Song of the Year shortlist for ‘Earned Me’ with The Weekender Awards; and a live performance on the broadcast stage for BBC Upload Edinburgh 2021, where 6 acts were chosen from thousands to perform.
First single Fourteen - a haunting piano pop ballad confronting teenage grief - will be released on July 8th, with the EP following in Autumn, and a launch gig at The Bedford in Balham in November, hosted in association with Mamas in Music.

Music and motherhood
During her break from music, Roma had her first child. This experience, coupled with a particularly long and grueling recovery, instilled in her a powerful drive and determination to create again and a desire to be open about motherhood.
“I wasn’t sure what my place would be - should be - in the music industry after becoming a mother. I was originally going to hide it. Why should it be relevant? But after lengthy discussions with Jess (co-writer/producer) we decided to challenge this instinct and the fear of not being as creatively creditable after having children. Music is all consuming. So is being a parent. So I’m embracing both worlds together, in all their messiness.” - Roma Rose
Strongly believing that in order to be the best example to our children, we must live our fullest lives and chase our dreams, her music takes you on a journey of self acceptance, whilst also exploring the universal, genderless journey and reconciling who you once were with who you are now.
